Molly from Tampa FL.... Hi Sheila Glad to find another FL gal. Sorry I missed you at both OK and FL HLAA Conventions.OK was my 14th conv!!! My 1st CI 4/95. Wonderful. Hook Up Day and bilateral on 2/22/06 Fabulous. Sure I had some new + weird sounds at first. Two is not louder but much more details. Worth it. Best wishes on your upcoming 2nd C I. I am new to reading everyone's blog. It is fun. No way I am not brave "enuff" to type my thoughts. Visit later!!!!!

Hi - I am considering getting a cochlear implant,. Has anyone used Dr. Andrea Vambutas at Long Island Jewish Hospital in New York? Is there a way to find people who may have used her?

Thanks

hi, Sheila! Congratulations on your successful surgery! Glad things are going so far, so good for you. Have you heard that I've qualified for bilateral? I discovered much the same thing, that my hearing has crashed in my second ear, seven years after the first...but only 2 years since my first CI surgery.
But hey, isn't seven the number for perfection?!? If I'm ready for the second implant any time this year, it'll count. Someone else's perfect timing. I'm still reeling from realizing I qualified.
